Modernization of SAGEPAS system, STO
Within the scope of the modernization of its operations support system, the STO gave Dessau the mandate to replace existing system (cutover) with a new system based on GPS and automatic toll, including a detailed plan of the solution. Dessau was the designated integrator for the implementation of a new computerized ticket validation system on STO’s 180 buses. Phase 2 of the project consisted in integrating the GPS to enable the STO to improve and facilitate distribution, collection, validation and ticket control, set up new rate structures, better adapted to the population’s needs, and obtain improved management data for planning and operations. This mandate consisted in implementing a technology based on contactless smart cards to eventually reduce other methods of payments such as cash and correspondence.
Dessau was given the mandate of implementing and commissioning the system on a turnkey basis.
