Dessau was mandated by the city of Longueuil to develop and supply a decision support system (DSS) enabling the city to provide short and long term investment plans for pavement, sewer and aqueduct infrastructures. The DSS is made up of a computerized tool for inventory and infrastructure condition data collection, geographical reference software for data processing, multicriteria analysis module to calculate a new generation of ratings and classifications of infrastructure conditions called "integrated condition rating", a financial planning tool and risk analysis as well as a database for municipal infrastructure management.
