Transportation, Intelligent Transportation Systems STM (Montreal Transit Authority) – Centralized control of the Montreal subway and telemetry – Réno-Systèmes. The working group in automation produced the pre-feasibility study, the analysis of needs, the definition of the project, the concept engineering, the preparation of plans and specifications for calls for tenders, and the selection of the successful bidder for the replacement contract. Project follow-up will proceed until 2006 and will include review, quality control and the approval of the successful bidder’s deliverables, monitoring of the work and implementation. These tasks were conducted within a multi-project context. The working team also had to develop a switchover process to the new centralized command avoiding any operational disturbance both at the level of customer service and at that of routine equipment maintenance. Société de transport de Montréal – Réno-Systèmes program. Concept and detailed engineering of the instrumentation and control systems for the installed equipment of the Montreal subway. Société de transport de Montréal – Réno-Systèmes program. As part of the renovation program of equipment installed in the Montreal subway, design and management of interfaces between the different control, information and communication systems (existing and new) for equipment and system designers and suppliers. There are more than 40 interfaces and external systems. Société de transport de Montréal – Réno-Systèmes program. Design and implementation of an equipment and cable management system for all new installations in the renovation program of the Montreal subway. The system is designed on the basis of multi-user relational data for use by designers and the administrators of the installation contracts. Deux-Montagnes commuter train/Telemetry – Siemens Electric Ltd. Technical coordination between supplier and client (CANAC) to ensure compliance of the equipment with client’s technical specifications; detailed design, manufacture, trial and phasing-in of the telemetry system, including the definition of entry/outlet points, the screen pages of the operator interface, and the programming logics of the entire system. Deux-Montagnes commuter train/Coordination – Siemens Electric Ltd. The project involved the contribution of several suppliers and production engineering disciplines. Dessau was retained to handle technical coordination between the different parties. New concept of traffic management – Victoria Bridge. Several engineering disciplines were involved in realizing this project, i.e. transportation infrastructure, electricity, telecommunications, structure and transportation. The “automation” portion encompasses automation of bridge closures and redirecting traffic using panels with variable messages at the bridge entrances, a system of dropping barriers and upgraded geometric configurations, and the technological choice of equipment – luminous arrows, flashing bars, automated barriers. top page |
