Scope of Work
Geological surveys and geotechnical engineering.
This project entailed the construction of a hydroelectric power plant featuring three turbine groups with a capacity of 768 MW, as well as related works (dyke, reinforced earth wall, roads). LVM, a subsidiary of Dessau, performed geological surveys and provided the geotechnical engineering for the dam axis,
retention dykes, and bypass channels. The firm also assessed the borrow pits and completed the quality control of 4.2 million cu. ft. of cement, 300,000 tonnes of sand and aggregates, and 300,000 tonnes of filling materials and rockfill.
Challenges
- Executed work in a remote area (Northern Quebec).
- Built 100 km of winter roads and two ice bridges to transport materials.
