Dessau Acquires JEGEL
Dessau Inc., one of Canada’s largest engineering-construction firms, today announced its expansion into Toronto through the acquisition of John Emery Geotechnical Engineering Limited (JEGEL), a Toronto-based geotechnical engineering firm.
The combination with JEGEL provides Dessau on-the-ground presence for its clients in the Toronto market and increased capacity for growth.
Dessau will leverage JEGEL’s expertise in consulting engineering, testing and research and development technical services in advanced geotechnology, environmental and waste management engineering and specialized pavement engineering.
“We are delighted to be joined by a team of seasoned experts with exceptional talent and expertise,” said Mr. Jean-Pierre Sauriol, President and Chief Executive Officer of Dessau. “Today’s transaction provides a platform for expansion across Canada and is consistent with our growth strategy that has seen Dessau complete 20 acquisitions in the past five years and grow to nearly 4000 employees.”
“For our employees and our clients, this union opens the door to exciting new opportunities and challenges,” said Dr. John Emery, President of JEGEL. “Dessau provides JEGEL with the ideal partnership opportunity. As Canadian companies, we share the same values, which have been our strength from the outset: client satisfaction, innovation, reliability, commitment, teamwork, and respect for employees and clients.”
Based in Toronto, JEGEL will now operate as a Dessau subsidiary under the name LVM-JEGEL, and will benefit from the support of a full service, world class engineering-construction firm.
