Founded in 1957, Dessau is the second largest engineering firm in Quebec, the fifth largest in Canada, and ranks among the top 150 in the world. Specializing in several different fields related to engineering and construction, Dessau is able to plan, design, build and manage the various infrastructures owned by its public and private-sector clients. With 4,700 employees and annual sales of $600M, the company operates offices in the provinces of Quebec and Ontario, as well as several other countries in North Africa, Central America, South America and the Caribbean.

Jean-Pierre Sauriol's biography
President and Chief Executive Officer
An exceptional manager and leader, Mr. Jean-Pierre Sauriol has spearheaded Dessau’s operations since 1992. He directs one of the top 150 engineering-construction firms in the world. Mr. Sauriol graduated from the École Polytechnique de Montréal with a degree in Civil Engineering (1979) and completed the Harvard Business School's Owner President Management Program (1993). Early in his career, Mr. Sauriol acquired solid expertise in several engineering areas, as well as in project management, planning, and cost and quality control of major projects.
In 1984, he was appointed Vice President of Dessau Group, responsible for business development and the management of several departments and subsidiaries. After becoming Vice President and Director General in 1989, he was named President and Chief Executive Officer in 1992, making him the youngest president of a large-scale engineering-consulting firm in Canadian history.
